Reaching Wounded Students
Trauma-Informed Practices & Strategies to Support Learning & Wellness
Online Courses for Certificate Hours or Graduate Credit
Emotional poverty has become a deterrent to academic success. Research shows that over half the nation's children have experienced trauma, which has a profoundly negative impact on their behaviors, relationships, learning, and/or mental wellness. Educators need to be encouraged, equipped, and empowered to understand wounded children in order to reach them, teach them, and avoid using ineffective strategies and consequences that would only cause further frustration to all parties involved. This course will provide strategies and a growth mindset for keeping wounded children engaged in their educational and community settings. It will also investigate personal and professional strategies to empower educators to develop a vision for directing children on a path to academic and life success. This course utilizes the instructor's book "7 Ways to Transform the Lives of Wounded Students," available on Amazon as an EBOOK for as low as $10 or PAPERBACK (use discount code FLA22 to receive 20% off list price).

"This course has me thinking and reflecting in ways that I have never done before. It would be so beneficial for undergraduate students to take this course. Unfortunately, these concepts are not addressed when you are going through your teaching training. I'm loving everything about this course. Thank you."
